Rules of the School • Poppyfield Equestrian

Riders must wait for permission to enter from the instructor.
The school must be poo-picked on completion of your ride and at the end of each day.
Riders should line up in the centre of the school when mounting, kept a safe distance apart and well in from the outside track.
When moving off, check the way ahead is clear and have a basic plan of where you're going next.
Pass left hand to left hand when working around the school — riders on the right rein give way and move to the inside track.
Keep a minimum distance of a horse's length between you and the horse in front.
Don't halt on the track — a rider behind may not stop in time — unless told to by the instructor.
Halt in a safe place in the centre of the school, checking no one is behind you first.
Don't walk on the track if others are moving at faster paces — faster paces have right of way.
Stay aware of other horses and riders at all times, and look where you're going.
Behave sensibly and proceed with caution at all times.
If a rider falls and a horse gets loose, all riders should halt in the centre of the school.
All equipment (jumps, poles etc.) must be put away when no longer needed, your ride is complete, or at the end of each day.
